Taisei Matsumoto is a photographer born in Kagoshima, Japan, in 1992. He spent his early childhood in Taiwan and Singapore and began photographing in 2015.

Based in Fukuoka and Tokyo, he works primarily throughout northern Kyushu. Since 2022, he has continued to develop and exhibit personal work alongside commissioned photography.

What we see never tells the whole story. Even when nothing seems to be happening, life quietly goes on.

Things are born, and things are lost. Whatever life brings, I want to stay close to what is here and now, just as it is—to gently illuminate it, and to love it.

To simply be there, sharing the same time, and keeping my eyes open to worlds I have yet to see. That is what I hope to entrust to my photographs.
